Meet our Family

From Fur to Foot, our Family means everything to us.

Ashley and Tyler Walton are the faces of Swan Song Farm. Established in 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, they threw caution to the wind and sold their home in Skagit County for the 5 acre parcel that would become Swan Song Farm.

They have three young sons, and with the last two years have come a long way from a suburban backyard chicken flock, most of whom are still on the farm.

Together with their various other pursuits, they also own and operate Swan Song Forge, a custom manufacturing company, and Stone House Hobbies, which speaks to their nerdier side of life and hobby of Tabletop Wargaming and creating of custom resin miniatures.

“Homesteading has been a dream of mine since 2016 when my youngest child was born. Living a life that was not disposable, and investing in my future was something that mattered very much to me, and sourcing my own food became a passion of mine. I love to cook new foods with exotic ingredients and really did not understand just how far my love of my backyard chickens would take us.”

“Everyone wants to grow up and have a castle, whether they admit it or not. Building this farm has been building our castle, and filling it with all the spaces, tools, and means to turn dreams into reality, free of the constraints of the traditional workplace. I’m deeply passionate about creating things, whether they’re artistic or functional. Someday I hope this farm will be a place equipped to manifest any idea and bring it into the world.”
